As a part of e-governance initiatives, since 01<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0April 2019 onwards, the paper based catch certificate issuance system has been upgraded to online system for issuance of\u00a0catch certificates digitally. This is done in compliance with prevailing guidelines and\u00a0without affecting the provisions of the Article 20(4) of EC notification 1005\/2008.<\/p><p>Recently EU has amended Union Catch certification scheme on the Regulations EC Nos. 1224\/2009,\u00a0768\/2005,\u00a01005\/2008 and 1967\/2006\u00a0and developed a new\u00a0IT system called \u201cCATCH IT\u201d to fight\u00a0against Illegal Unreported and Unregulated fishing.
