The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, organized Seafood Exporters Meet commemorating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav \u2013 Vanijya Utsav on 24\/09\/2021 at Novotel Hotel Visakhapatnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meet was chaired by Shri B V R Subrahmanyam IAS, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Govt of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shri Diwakar Nath Misra IAS, Joint Secretary, DoC, MoCI, Shri K S Srinivas IAS, Chairman MPEDA, Dr M Karthikeyan, Director MPEDA, Shri Jagdish Fofandi, National President of Seafood Exporters Association of India, (SEAI), Shri Indra Kumar A, Regional President SEAI of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Elias Sait, Secretary General SEAI and other Regional Presidents and around 45 Seafood Exporters from across the country participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the welcome address Chairman MPEDA highlighted the export performance of marine products; trade issues faced by exporters with China, EU, Vietnam, Australia, South Korea, Kuwait, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and other countries. Chairman MPEDA said that an action plan has been made to achieve the target of 7.8 billion US$ fixed by MoCI for the Financial Year 2021-22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the interaction behalf of SEAI, Jagdish Fofandi, National President, Shri Indra Kumar A, Regional President SEAI, AP and\u00a0 Shri Elias Sait, General Secretary presented the major trade issues facing by Seafood Exporters like Steep hike in freight, shortage of containers, Less RODTEP rates, relisting of Exporters by EU , Pending of Fresh approvals from EU and the interventions required by the Central Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chief guest of the programme Shri B V R Subrahmanyam IAS, Commerce Secretary individually interacted with exporters and assured to the exporters that he has taken note of all the major issues raised by the exporters and Government side and will make effort to resolve the issues related with China and other major importing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr M Karthikeyan Director MPEDA thanked all the dignitaries and participants before concluding the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
