Vide KMFR Rules amendment dtd. 1^st Sep. 2018 Fishing in any specified area by trawl net in contravention to the dimension of  gear and type and size of mesh as specified below is prohibited:

35 mm for fish & cephalopods and

25mm for shrimp

Notification No.:7Fy Sch 2/2001 6952/FARD-  dtd. 17^th April 2001  The State government amended the Orissa Marine Fishing Regulation Rules, 1983. It mandated mechanized vessels to use Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDs)

Maharashtra

No provision of TED in the Maharashtra MFR act.

The Government of Maharashtra considers it necessary to regulate fishing on scientific basis so as to conserve fish and to avoid the catch of small fishes and juveniles.

No trawl gear having less than 40 mm square mesh cod end shall be operated by any mechanized fishing vessels.

No provision of Minimum Legal Size of fishes in the Maharashtra MFR act.

West Bengal

Trawl-net of standard mesh size fitted with Turtle Excluder Devise (TED) suitable to the size of trawl-net.

As per the GO No. AHF 157 SFS 2018 Bangalore dated 26/6/2019, minimum legal size for 19 species is declared in order to avoid juvenile fishing in the state under subsection 2(C) of section (3) of KMFR act 1986
