WHAT GOES IN
Kofta
Fish minced – 500 gms
White vinegar – 10 ml
Salt – 10 gms
Potato – 200 gms
Bread – 2 slices00
Onion chopped – 50 gms
Green chilly chopped – 10 gms
Corainder leaves – 10 gms
Lime juice – 5 ml
Oil for frying – 100 ml
Curry
Oil – 50 ml
Onion – 200 gms
Ginger chopped – 5 gms
Garlic – 5 gms
Green chilly – 5 gms
Tomato chopped – 50 gms
Red chilly powder – 5 gms
Turmeric – 1/2 tspn
Garam masala 1/2 tspn
Tamarind juice – 1/2 tspn
Cream – 30 ml
Salt – 10 gms
HOW TO PREPARE
Kofta
1. Boil potato with skin until soft, peel off skin and mash.
2. Heat 30 ml of oil and saute onion and chilly for 3 mts.
3. Add fish, salt, lime juice and stir well until the fish is cooked. Remove from fire and cool.
4.Add potato, flaked bread, vinegar, coriander leaves and divide into 12 uniform sized balls.
5. Fry in oil until golden brown and remove.
Curry
1. Heat oil and fry together onion, ginger, garlic and green chilly until they turn into golden brown.
2. Add chilly, turmeric, garam masala, tamarind juice, tomato concasse and stir until it develops a good aroma.
3. Now add tomato puree, sufficient water and salt to bring into pouring consistency.
4. Place koftas in a serving bowl and pour the gravy on it.
5. Garnish with fresh cream.
Accompaniment: Vegetable dish and boiled rice
